O scale maintenance shed

 This is an O scale rendition of an HO scale modern yard office. This structure can be used or both Rail Road yards and Industrial complexes. It measures approx 12 by 4 inches and about 3 inches high. This office comes with an electrical connection, fire hose bib, a down spout and an air conditioner. There are two doors and six windows. The standard colors are dirty white walls with dull green windows, doors and roof. Since these structures are built to order the customer can specify other color combinations and make changes to this structure if desired.

If bulk commodities are a part of your railroad's freight tonnage then  you are in the market for a scale house. Any time a railroad needs to  weigh a car it goes to a scale house. Functionally it is a protective shed built around a large weighing machine. The scale house usually  contains a large bay window so the person inside can see both ends of the car being weighed in order to write down the car identification  number and view oncoming traffic. Usually a scale house is built from  corrugated sheet metal however this design simulates brick for a more lasting impression. 

This O scale service shed is intended to be used as a 'steel' storage / maintenance building track side or in an industrial park. The footprint for the shed is approximately 6 ½ in x 9 ½ in x 5 ¼ in (h). It comes with an office door, two windows and a garage door (approximately 2 ½ in  x 3 ¾ in). The shed comes standard with a set of doors that slide open  to each side. As always decals are also an additional option. Custom  lengths up to 11 inches are available upon request. The standard color is light gray with dark gray widows and office door. 

The pump house was originally designed to be used with a large tank farm but is now being offered as a standalone structure. One side of the pump house has up to four inlet valves while the opposite side has one large outlet valve. The inlet valves are approximately 1 inch off the ground while the outlet valve is about 1 ¼ inch up. The height of the  inlet valves will match up with the outlet valves of the large storage  tanks which are offered separately. The standard color for the pump house will be light gray. Though not shown each shed comes with two decals (Private Property / Danger Electrical Equipment). The footprint is approximately 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. The roof line slopes from 3 1/2  on one side to 3 inches on the other. 

The design for the A-Frame Pump House has changed.  I always considered this structure kind of narrow. The new footprint is approximately to 3 x 3 x 3 (H) inch. The same options exist for inlet /  outlet piping and door light. The pump house shown has a small outlet pipe however the standard design will have normal size outlet piping. The loading shed has gone through a major redesign. The truck door has  been relocated to the side of the building. This allows a dock to be installed both inside and outside of the door. The door is operational.  It can be opened and closed. This now allows the train doors to be  opened and closed also. The train doors can be built to accommodate track height. This O Scale service shed is designed to be placed over a  track to let a hopper cars or box cars load / unload product. The opening for the rail car is a pass through so the building can be placed anywhere on a siding. The front includes an office door. This building will look good as a standalone structure or as an ancillary building in  an ethanol or grain complex. WRT an ethanol complex this structure can  serve as a Dried Distiller Grains (DDG/DDGS) storage and loading shed.  DDG is the solid material left over from the fermentation process to  produce alcohol from corn. It is usually sold to feed lots for cattle. DDG is loaded on to trucks for those lots close by and onto hoppers for long range transportation by rail. Approximate foot print for the building 11 inches (W) x 12  inches (L) x 6.50 inches (H) on the high side. Standard color for the building is a light gray with dark gray doors and window however other options are light gray, white and black.

The standard design has two office containers stacked on top of each other. The footprint is approximately 8 1/2 inches by 3 inches by 6 inches  (h). Add an extra one inch for the stairway to the width.

The offices can also be purchased separately for side by side location or a combination of two stacked and one office in a side location.
